Cast Iron Pretzel Burger with Fried Onions and Nacho Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1 La Brea Bakery pretzel bun
  • 1/3 lb burger patty
  • 1 slice Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tbsp nacho cheese sauce, warmed
  • 1/4 cup fried onions
  • 2 tbsp Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 leaf lettuce
  • 4 pickle slices
Preparation

Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.Season the ground beef patty with salt and pepper. Cook in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the desired doneness is achieved. In the final minute of cooking, place the slice of Monterey Jack cheese on the patty and cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt.

Place the pretzel bun halves, cut side down, in the same skillet for 1-2 minutes, until l lightly toasted.

To assemble the burger, spread Thousand Island dressing evenly on the bottom bun. Place the lettuce leaf on top of the dressing. Add the cooked burger patty with melted Jack cheese. Arrange the pickle slices on top of the cheese. Spoon the warm nacho cheese sauce over the pickles. Add the fried onions. Place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.

Serve immediately with a side of chips and a crisp German Kolsch style beer
