French Toast

Start your day off right with this delicious French toast.

Ingredients
  • 1 La Brea Bakery French Baguette, cut into 1-inch-thick slices
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups half and half
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Maple syrup, to taste
  • Powdered sugar, to taste (optional)
Preparation
  1. Combine eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, honey, nutmeg, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Heat pan to medium and add butter.
  3. Dip bread slices into egg mixture for 30 seconds each side. Shake off excess and place in heated pan. Cook bread until both sides are golden brown (2 to 3 minutes each side). Remove and top with syrup and powdered sugar.
