Whipped Goat Cheese Dip is the ideal accompaniment to our Take and Bake French Baguette

Some things just go together perfectly — like La Brea Bakery French Baguette, a creamy spread, and fresh, seasonal fruit.

Our La Brea Bakery muse, Dimitria @grateboards, is a cheese lover who crafts gorgeous, themed charcuterie and grazing boards and shares delicious appetizer and breakfast ideas on Instagram. Her Whipped Goat Cheese Dip is the ideal accompaniment to our Take and Bake French Baguette, featuring a crisp, golden crust and smooth, mild taste.

The ideal appetizer or snack, this dip is simple to make but rich in flavor, featuring goat cheese, cream cheese, hot honey, and lemon juice, then topped with diced peaches, mint leaves, and more hot honey. Crispy, toasted crostinis made from La Brea Bakery’s Take and Bake French Baguette are perfect for scooping up this delicious dip.

How to Make It

Start with the crostinis:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cut La Brea Bakery Take & Bake French Baguettes into ½-inch slices, then brush with olive oil and salt.
  3. Bake 5 minutes or until toasted to your liking, flipping halfway through.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Then make the dip:

  1. In a food processor, add 8 oz. of plain goat cheese, 4 oz. of softened cream cheese, 1-2 tablespoons of hot honey, and the juice of half a lemon. Process until smooth.
  2. Place in a serving bowl, top with fresh, diced peaches, a few mint leaves, and finish with a drizzle of hot honey.

Because it’s so quick and easy to make, Whipped Goat Cheese Dip is a versatile snack or light meal for any time of day. Prepare it the night before and pack it for lunch at school or at the office. Work from home? Throw it together and enjoy before your next virtual meeting. Impress friends and family by sharing it at your next potluck, picnic, or brunch; or serve it as a light starter before your dinner party’s main course.

This is a wonderful spread for any time of year. Top with peach, mango, or melon in the summer; kiwi, pear, or pineapple in the fall; grapefruit or pomegranate in winter; and apricots or strawberries in spring. Take advantage of in-season fruit for a burst of flavor that will make the most of this delicious dip.
