This authentic butter and prosciutto sandwich will have you imagining you're dining al fresco in Europe, the rich butter, delicate prosciutto, and crisp baguette taking your taste buds on a vacation.
Ingredients
- 2 La Brea Bakery French Baguettes, cut into four 7-inch pieces and sliced in half
- 1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 6 ounces imported prosciutto, thinly sliced
For scallion oil:
- ⅓ cup scallion, chopped
- ⅓ cup Italian parsley leaves, chopped
- ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
To make the scallion oil:
Blend scallion, parsley, olive oil, and salt. Set aside.
To assemble the sandwiches:
- Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter on the bottom half of each baguette.
- Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of scallion oil over the butter on each baguette.
- Place 6 slices of prosciutto on top of the butter/scallion mixture. Place the top slices over the prosciutto, and gently squeeze the sandwich together.
- Serve.
