Smoked Mackerel Dip with Toasted Baguette

Ingredients
  • 1 package of La Brea Bakery Take and Bake French Baguettes
  • 8 oz canned cold-smoked mackerel filets such as FishWife
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: a dash of hot sauce for a bit of heat
Preparation
  1. Slice baguettes crosswise and toast until lightly golden In a medium mixing bowl add the cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, dill, and Dijon mustard.
  2. Use a fork or spoon to mix until smooth and creamy. Adjust salt, pepper, and hot sauce (if using) to taste.
  3. Fold in the mackerel making sure to keep the fish in larger chunks.
  4. Garnish with remaining fresh dill sprigs and serve with toasted baguette.
