Ingredients
- 1 package of La Brea Bakery Take and Bake French Baguettes
- 8 oz canned cold-smoked mackerel filets such as FishWife
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)
- ½ tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: a dash of hot sauce for a bit of heat
Preparation
- Slice baguettes crosswise and toast until lightly golden In a medium mixing bowl add the cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, dill, and Dijon mustard.
- Use a fork or spoon to mix until smooth and creamy. Adjust salt, pepper, and hot sauce (if using) to taste.
- Fold in the mackerel making sure to keep the fish in larger chunks.
- Garnish with remaining fresh dill sprigs and serve with toasted baguette.
